In Jokkmokk, nature is always present. The municipality is the second largest in the country but also the most alpine. In the west, nine peaks in the Stora Sjöfallet and Sarek National Parks rise above 2,000 meters, and in Sarek there are 22 peaks over 1,900 meters above sea level. Further west, the forest landscape stretches out. Muddus National Park with its amazing primeval forest is unique in many ways. The landscape is also characterized by its many waterways. From the headwaters of the Lule River, the Pearl River and the wild Råne River headwaters to fantastic clear mountain lakes and forest ponds in the woodland.
